Synovo Hip Replacement Lawsuit

If you or a loved one has suffered complications from a Synovo hip replacement, you may be entitled to compensation through a Synovo hip replacement lawsuit. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning in January 2024 about Synovo Total Hip Replacement System Devices, which can allegedly cause patients with the implant to experience pain, weight-bearing difficulty, weakness, and more.

Synovo Hip Replacement Concerns

According to the FDA warning, when it comes to the Synovo Total Hip Resurfacing System, “Three components of the system, the Femoral Resurfacing Cup, the Acetabular Fixation Cup, and the Acetabular Bearing, have been significantly modified from the devices that were cleared by the FDA.”

The agency recommended that patients who received the devices after 2019 and dealt with “new or worsening pain, loosening, grinding or other noise, inability to bear weight, or weakness of the hip or knee on the side of your implant” should contact their doctor. It also recommended that all Synovo Total Hip Systems, including the Femoral Resurfacing Cup, the Acetabular Fixation Cup, and the Acetabular Bearing components in the system should be removed from inventory, and patients who have the Synovo Total Hip System should be closely monitored by their healthcare providers.

Synovo Total Hip System Health Issues

Health complications related to the use of the Synovo Total Hip System/Synovo Hip Replacement include:

  • Bone fracture
  • Device failure
  • Grinding or other noise
  • Inability to bear weight
  • Infection
  • Loosening
  • Pain
  • Weakness of the hip on the side of your implant
  • Weakness of the knee on the side of your implant
  • …and more

The FDA recommends that these devices should not be purchased or implanted. The Femoral Resurfacing Cup, the Acetabular Fixation Cup, and the Acetabular Bearing are all components that have been included in the agency’s warning.
