YUMA, AZ – A multi-vehicle crash in Yuma on Sunday morning left one person seriously injured, KYMA reports.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Avenue A and County 16th Street at about 1 a.m.
Investigators believe the driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck was attempting to pass a Chevrolet Cruze sedan when the vehicles somehow collided, causing both to leave the roadway.
The driver of the Chevrolet was rushed to Yuma Regional Medical Center with potentially life-threatening injuries. He was subsequently flown to a hospital in Phoenix.
The driver of the Ford was unhurt. His passenger sustained minor injuries but refused treatment at the scene.
Responding officers believe alcohol played a role in this crash.
