Continuing the firm’s commitment to community outreach, Phillips Law Group has begun a new partnership with Nourish Phoenix, also known as NourishPHX, to serve individuals and families in need in the Phoenix area. Volunteers with Phillips kicked off this new collaboration with an event on August 9th where both firm volunteers and those associated with NourishPHX helped at the organization’s food pantry.
What is NourishPHX?
NourishPHX has provided services for the working poor in Phoenix since the 1960s. Formerly known as formerly ICM Food and Clothing Bank, NourishPHX is a “trusted community hub serving vulnerable individuals and families by offering resources to satisfy immediate needs and to provide pathways to self-sufficiency,” according to the organization’s website.
The nonprofit has a food pantry, clothing closet, and more, and its community hub offers “everything from vaccinations to pet services.” On August 9th, Phillips Law Group volunteers got the chance to help out at the organization’s food pantry, where seven volunteers helped 180 individuals in attendance.
Phillips Law Group Assists NourishPHX Residents
At this first major volunteer opportunity with the organization, Phillips Law Group volunteers worked directly with NourishPHX to help push out food carts to make sure essential items reached those in need. Volunteers with the firm also served breakfast burritos and coffee to the residents in attendance, generously provided by Plus1, and provided cold water for the staff and residents to combat the Arizona heat.
The event was a great success, and volunteers were more than happy to help the residents and positively engage with those in need of services. This was just the first of many volunteer opportunities Phillips Law Group and NourishPHX have planned together; the goal is to have at least one event to partner together on every month.
Community Service Commitment
Phillips Law Group has several monthly community events planned throughout the year. Recently, volunteers from our team have given their time and effort to organizations like Arizona Helping Hands, Maggie’s Place, Women4Women Tempe, A New Leaf, Cloud Covered Streets, and more.
Community service work is at the core of our mission as a firm. Making a positive impact in our community and supporting causes that matter is deeply important to Phillips Law Group and to our team, and we always have volunteer opportunities available for our staff and for interested parties who reach out looking for community outreach possibilities.
