MARICOPA, AZ – A single-vehicle crash on the John Wayne Parkway in Maricopa claimed the life of a teen driver on Tuesday morning.
According to a report by the Maricopa Monitor, the crash occurred at about 8:50 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the parkway near Honeycutt Avenue.
Emergency crews discovered a Chevrolet Corvette that crashed into a concrete barrier along the overpass bridge.
The Corvette’s driver, 19-year-old Santino Marks, was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. He was the vehicle’s sole occupant when the crash occurred.
Investigators are working to establish an official cause of the crash at this time.
