Collision Causes Early Morning Traffic Delays in Northwest Phoenix on I-17

PHOENIX, AZ – A traffic accident closed the far left lane on southbound I-17 Thursday morning, resulting in delays for commuters in northwest Phoenix, Arizona DOT reports.

The collision occurred near Thomas Road and was first reported at 6:47 a.m.

The cause of the crash and the number of vehicles involved is unclear at this time. Traffic was backed up in the area for at least 15 minutes afterward. All lanes were reopened by 7 a.m.
