Dr. Robert Hadden, a gynecologist formerly affiliated with New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center, was accused of sexually assaulting a number of patients. Some of the assaulted women were pregnant, while others were assaulted during their yearly medical exams. His case has resulted in a $165 million settlement between 147 patients of the former gynecologist and Columbia University and its affiliated hospitals. And while his case may be one of the more high-profile recent examples of sexual abuse by doctors, it is far from the only case of sexual assault of a patient at the hands of a doctor.
Indeed, Dr. Mark Rollin Young, the owner of APEX Ketamine Therapy, had his medical license suspended in 2023 after female patients accused him of sexually assaulting them while receiving ketamine treatment administered by Dr. Young at his Glenwood Springs medical office. There are now investigations into the accusations of sexual assault against Dr. Mark R. Young, and he and Dr. Hadden are far from the only medical professionals accused of abuse by their patients.
Who is Dr. Robert Hadden?
