Volunteers Make a Big Difference at November Women4Women Tempe Packing Party

Volunteers from Phillips Law Group attended their last “packing party” of the year benefitting Women4Women Tempe on November 3rd and ultimately prepared hundreds of donation bags of necessary feminine products for people in need. The Women4Women Tempe packing party service opportunity was just the latest community outreach event that proved our firm volunteers can make a huge difference when they come together to give back.

What is Women4Women Tempe?

Women4Women Tempe’s mission is “to help homeless and low-income women in our communities maintain their dignity, health, and self-respect by providing feminine hygiene products to those in need.” The organization donates thousands of bags of products a month to over 40 distribution sites, and volunteers are a huge part of that goal.

Phillips Law Group regularly volunteers for Women4Women Tempe and has a history of hosting packing parties to prepare donation bags for the organization. Volunteers work hard at the parties to put together as many bags as possible, and at the November 3rd event, 14 Phillips Law Group volunteers showed up to form an assembly line to get the job done.

‘They Don’t Need to Worry About Anything’

Sharon Mews, an Office Support Assistant and member of the Marketing Team for the firm, spoke to an individual working with Women4Women Tempe at the event who said that when Phillips Law Group organizes a packing party, “they know that they will not have to worry.”

“She said that we get the job done, and they have to do very little,” Sharon noted.

Ilce Mondragon, the Community Outreach Coordinator for the firm, added that she was told Women4Women Tempe usually needs to bring all the supplies to packing parties, but that’s not the case when Phillips Law Group hosts one.

“They love us because we provide everything,” she said. “And they don’t need to worry about anything.”

Volunteers on hand at the November event packed a record 635 bags filled with 12 pads or tampons, 6 individually wrapped pantiliners, 5 individually wrapped hand wipes, and 5 individually wrapped feminine wipes. They were provided with juice and donuts and enjoyed music – and each other’s company – as they worked.
