One Dead After Train, SUV Collide in Gilbert

GILBERT, AZ – Investigators with the Gilbert Police Department are looking into a collision involving an SUV and a train that left one person dead Thursday evening.
According to ABC 15, the accident was reported at about 5 a.m. on the tracks near Baseline Road and McQueen Road.
Police arrived to discover a single occupant in a light-colored SUV that had been struck by a train. They pronounced the motorist dead at the scene. Details regarding their identity are being withheld at this time.
An investigation into the cause of the accident remains underway as of Friday morning.
