usc sexual abuseLast Friday, the University of Southern California (USC) agreed to pay $215 million in damages after dozens of patients filed lawsuits accusing longtime campus gynecologist Dr. George Tyndall of sexual abuse. Thesettlement would provide at least $2,500 to any student treated by Tyndall over the course of his 30-year employment at the university student health center.

As many as 17,000 students and alumnae qualify for this federal suit. Those willing to come forward about the sexual abuse they experienced may also be entitled to additional compensation up to $250,000.

He is currently being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department, but no criminal charges against the doctor have been filed at this time.
