WICKENBURG, AZ – Four people died and one person was injured in a collision involving a tractor-trailer on US-93 on Monday morning.
According to reporting by CBS 5, the crash occurred between I-40 and SR-71 when a passenger vehicle drifted into the oncoming lane and collided with the tractor-trailer.
The driver of the passenger vehicle and three passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. A fourth passenger was flown to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
It is unclear at this time if the truck driver suffered any injuries.
The freeway was shut down in both directions for several hours following the incident. All lanes have since been reopened.
