PHOENIX, AZ – At least six people were taken to area hospitals after a light rail train collided with a passenger vehicle near downtown Sunday evening.
According to KGUN, the motor vehicle crossed onto the tracks along Washington Street near the intersection with 11th Street, where it was struck by an oncoming train at about 4:30 p.m.
Reports say that more than 10 people were aboard the train when the accident occurred. The impact derailed several cars, which then crashed into a nearby fence.
