Our firm is investigating cases of Boeing toxic chemical exposure that may have led to birth defects and higher miscarriage rates among workers. Lawsuits alleging Boeing factory employees suffered reproductive harm from toxic chemicals they were exposed to on the job may be the best way for people impacted to seek justice for the harm done to them.
Boeing Toxic Chemical Exposure: What Happened?
Boeing’s health and safety experts found what seemed to be an “elevated” rate of miscarriages among workers, according to The Everett Herald. The numbers came out to around 11 of 41 pregnancies among the study participants, or about 27 percent of cases, according to a survey, whereas the normal rate was around 10 to 20 percent, the outlet noted.
When the United States Environmental Protection Agency reviewed the results of the miscarriage study, the agency suggested that it merited further research, the outlet noted. However, previous depositions of Boeing officials revealed that follow-up didn’t occur, and lawsuits from affected workers followed.
Notably, a corporate memo reported that “no single agent can be identified as a cause of miscarriage in this study” but highlighted a few chemical products that were “implicated by this study as being associated with miscarriage,” the Everett Daily Herald reported.
There have also been lawsuits and out-of-court settlements involving birth defects in children born to Boeing factory staff.
Toxic Chemical Exposure Legal Options
Related lawsuits now allege that toxic chemical exposure at Boeing manufacturing facilities resulted in birth defects in workers’ children born between 1980 and 2014.
In court filings, Boeing has argued that the birth defects were not caused by chemicals in its facilities and that the company takes measures to protect its employees from possible health hazards. But questions remain, and there could be an untold number of families impacted by alleged Boeing toxic chemical exposure.
Fortunately, legal help is available. If evidence can be established showing that chemical exposure in Boeing factories resulted in lifelong health challenges and significant financial burdens for the children of people who worked there, attorneys may be able to seek justice and compensation for the people affected.
