Fatal Motorcycle Crash in South Tucson

TUCSON, AZ – A motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle crash just south of downtown Tucson Wednesday night.

KOLD News 13 reports that 25-year-old Daniel Joseph Huggins was traveling eastbound on East 22nd Street when his 2020 Harley-Davidson collided with the passenger-side of a black 2011 Dodge Nitro attempting to turn left onto 4th Avenue.

Tucson firefighters attempted life-saving measures on Huggins””who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash””but were unsuccessful.

The unidentified driver of the Dodge was uninjured, remained at the scene and is cooperating with police. Investigators believe failure to yield to the oncoming motorcyclist was a factor in the crash.
