65-year-old Woman Dead Following Three-Vehicle Crash

Stock image of deployed airbagsPHOENIX, AZ – A woman was killed Wednesday afternoon following a three-vehicle crash at a busy north Phoenix intersection.

According to 12 News, the collision took place at about 1:30 p.m., when the driver of a gray sedan ran a red light at 32nd Street and Utopia Road and collided with two other vehicles.

The unidentified driver of the sedan was hospitalized in serious condition. The driver of one of the other vehicles suffered only minor injuries.

The driver of the third vehicle was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries a short time later. She has been identified as 65-year-old Janice Ungerer.

It is unclear if the driver responsible for the crash will face criminal charges at this time.
