Reckless Driver Taken into Custody After Loop 202 Chase

PHOENIX, AZ ”“ State police arrested a reckless driver following a short chase on Loop 202 Tuesday evening, ABC 15 Arizona reports.

Police initially received reports that evening from a motorist who said a female driver was attempting to deliberately hit her vehicle while they were both driving east on I-10, close to Broadway Road. In a subsequent call, the woman said that her car had been hit multiple times.

Police caught up to the vehicles on Loop 202 and after a short pursuit, managed to forcibly pull over the offending driver near the highway’s intersection with Val Vista Drive.

It is unclear at this time what charges have been filed. No injuries were reported.

Update: Police Identify Woman Accused of Continuously Ramming Vehicle on I-10

MESA, AZ – A woman from Mesa has been arrested and charged with a number of crimes after she repeatedly rammed her vehicle into a Ford Mustang on I-10 in September.

According to AZCentral, 39-year-old Amy Sharie Pierce was driving her Ford Escape on I-10 near Loop 202 when she began ramming a Mustang she believed belonged to her ex-husband.

The driver of the Mustang contacted police, who quickly located the two vehicles and successfully deployed a bumper grappler to Pierce’s Escape. The vehicle was safely brought to a stop, and Pierce was immediately arrested.

Pierce is facing a number of charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal damage, endangerment and unlawful flight.

The driver of the Mustang was not injured during the incident.
