Man Killed in Semi-Truck Collision in South Tucson

Left turn arrowTUCSON, AZ ”“ A man was killed when a truck collided with his vehicle at an intersection in south Tucson at around noon on Wednesday, KOLD reports.

Police say that Clay Gerald Turner, 46, attempted to turn left from East Valencia Road onto South Palo Verde Road in front of a westbound semi-truck that, like Turner, had a green light. The truck slammed into Turner’s 2007 Chrysler Sebring, killing him.

The truck’s driver, identified only as a man in his 40s, received minor injuries and was evaluated at the scene.

Turner was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, and the truck driver did not show signs of impairment. Police are continuing to investigate the incident, but do not expect to file charges.
