GLENDALE, AZ – Phoenix police have identified the 50-year-old man killed in a pedestrian hit-and-run collision near Glendale Avenue Saturday night.
According to ABC 15 Arizona, Robert Bennett was struck at about 9 p.m. while waiting at the bus stop near the intersection of 28th Drive and Glendale Ave.
Bystanders told police that Bennett stepped out into the roadway to see if the bus was coming and was then struck by the driver in a light-colored Honda Civic. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died.
The driver involved in the deadly crash drove away before authorities arrived.
