SCOTTSDALE, AZ – A woman was killed and a man was rushed to the hospital after they were struck by a motor vehicle while riding their bicycles in northeast Scottsdale early Thursday morning, CBS 5 reports.
The accident took place at about 8:30 a.m. as the pair were riding in the eastbound bike lane of Legacy Boulevard near 98th Street.
The cyclists, both in their 70s, were taken to a nearby hospital, where the woman succumbed to her injuries. The man’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The unidentified driver is cooperating with the investigation. It is unclear if that individual will face any charges at this time.
