61-Year-Old Killed in Crash in North Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ – A man died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a north Phoenix street early Monday morning.

According to ABC 15, the 61-year-old pedestrian was walking on the curb lane in the area of 19th Avenue and Sweetwater Avenue around 8 a.m., when he was struck by a 2005 Mitsubishi Endeavor.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 56-year-old man, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police do not believe he was impaired at the time of the crash.

The identities of those involved are being withheld pending further investigation into the crash.
