Phillips Law Group continues to partner with new community organizations and to build on our work with previous partnerships. As part of this endeavor, we recently began a new collaboration with Project Connect. Project Connect is, “a one-day event offering wrap-around services to people at risk of or experiencing homelessness,” the Human Services Campus website notes.

Phillips Law Group joined Project Connect at a recent event in Avondale on September 28th where 119 individuals and families received assistance.

On September 28th, 81 volunteers assisted individuals and families at the Avondale Baptist Church Project Connect event. Partners and vendors included organizations like the Homeless ID Project, Catholic Charities MANA House, and Phillips Law Group.

Project Connect had several vendors set up a booth for the occasion, and Community Outreach Coordinator Jackie Velez and another Phillips staff member, Sharon Mews, represented the firm with a table at the event.

The various partners at the event connected individuals with services including basic needs like meals, clothing, and haircuts, to identification documents, pet care, healthcare, and more. Each organization was there to assist the most vulnerable people in our community, and Phillips Law Group was proud to work alongside other community groups in this mission.

Assisting Individuals in the Community

Phillips Law Group’s booth had donuts, chips, water, and more available at the Avondale Project Connect event, and Jackie and Sharon had the opportunity to share the work that the firm and its volunteers do in the community every day.

The event offered an opportunity to interact and connect with both the individuals in need and other vendors, including Community Bridges Inc., Sanctuary Recovery Centers, Animals and Humans in Disaster, and more. These chances to connect with both individuals in our community who need assistance and other outreach groups who can help us help those in need are truly priceless.

The next Project Connect event will be in Arcadia on November 7th, and we urge anyone who’d like to learn more about it to contact Human Services Campus. In addition, Phillips Law Group is always in need of volunteers for community events we assist with and organize, including our work with Feeding Arizona to help the homeless population in Phoenix.
