TUCSON, AZ – Arizona DPS officials have released the identity of the man who was killed after a tire crashed through his windshield on a Tucson freeway last Tuesday.
According to the Sahuarita Sun, 43-year-old Joaquin Maldonado was traveling north on I-19 near Pima Mine Road on the morning of April 13, when a rear tire detached from a tractor-trailer and struck his Hyundai Tucson at a high rate of speed.
Maldonado was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
