Phillips Law Group is proud to be a sponsor of the Foster Alliance Back to School drive, and as part of the organization’s efforts, several volunteers from the firm traveled to Tucson on June 26 to fill backpacks with essential school supplies for the kids Foster Alliance serves. Plus, there are several opportunities coming up for others to get involved in this very important cause.
Foster Alliance Back to School Drive – Tucson

Five volunteers from Phillips Law Group traveled together in the Phillips RV to the Foster Alliance location in Tucson in late June to help stuff backpacks with school supplies. As the prime sponsor for their Back to School drive, the firm made a financial contribution to make sure the organization could get all the school items the foster children they serve will need for this upcoming school year.
Ultimately, the volunteers stuffed well over 1,200 backpacks with supplies for the kids at the June 26 event. The items put into the backpacks included notebooks, pencils, rulers, and more.
“We worked hard until they ran out of things to stuff in the backpacks,” Sharon Mews, the Community Outreach Assistant at the firm, said of their efforts, adding, “There were several hundred left over when we finished those 1,200.”
“Many of us were reliving our school years, by picking out cute folders and back-to-school supplies,” she said.
The firm also ordered pizza for everyone to enjoy while they got to work and had a wonderful time together, all while contributing to a great cause.
Foster Alliance Back to School Drive – Tolleson

If that event sounds like a fun and meaningful one you wish you could’ve taken part in, you’re in luck! On July 8, The Foster Alliance and Phillips Law Group will be handing out backpacks and new clothes to foster kids in Tolleson, and we need all hands on deck to make the event run smoothly.
At the Tolleson back-to-school event, there will be pizza provided for those in attendance as well as face-painting for everyone to enjoy and a $1,000 giveaway to an Arizona family. This volunteer opportunity will take place from 2-6 pm, and we could use more helping hands to show these children that they are loved and supported by their community.
If you can’t make the Tolleson outreach opportunity, there is also an upcoming event in Mesa on July 12. We also have many other community service events throughout the year we would be more than happy to get you involved in.
