Victim in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash Identified

PHOENIX, AZ – Police have identified the male pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run collision in west Phoenix last Friday evening.

According to CBS 5, the incident happened at about 6:30 p.m. on January 29. 39-year-old Erandi Jimenez was struck while attempting to cross the street in the area of 7th Avenue and Southern Avenue.

Police found Jimenez lying injured in the roadway, suffering from serious injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver responsible for the crash fled the scene. Investigators believe that person was driving a gray or silver vehicle.
