Fatal Crash Reported Near 31st Ave and Indian School Road

PHOENIX, AZ – Investigators with the Phoenix Police Department have reported two fatalities resulting from a multi-vehicle collision Saturday morning, according to ABC15.

The accident occurred at around 11:30 a.m., when a Chrysler 300 collided with a Toyota Scion attempting to make a left turn from Indian School Road onto 31st Avenue.

Both occupants in the Toyota were rushed to a local hospital in serious condition. They both succumbed to their injuries a short time later.

The victims have been identified as 27-year-old Wilder Uriel Diaz-Gomez and 18-year-old Yahir Uriel-Diaz.

The driver of the Chrysler, 23-year-old Elidio Saenz, was also taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries sustained in the crash and was released a few hours later.

Police believe he was traveling at a high rate of speed when the accident occurred. Saenz was taken into custody on manslaughter charges upon his release from the hospital.
