Police Identify Victim of Pedestrian Crash Last Week

TUCSON, AZ – Tucson police have released the identity of a man killed after a south side pedestrian accident last Friday, January 8th.

According to Tucson.com, Matthew Edward Sherman was struck at about 4:30 a.m. while walking within the 400 block of East 22nd Street, near the intersection with South Park Avenue.

Investigators say Sherman was attempting to cross 22nd St. outside of a crosswalk when he was struck by a 2007 Ford Fusion traveling east. He died at the scene.

Police cited the driver for violating a corrective lens restriction. Their identity has not been made public.
