Injured Man Transported To Hospital After Colliding With Pickup Truck

SOMERTON, AZ – A man was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday after his vehicle was t-boned in a Somerton intersection.

According to KYMA, first responders were called to the scene at Avenue G and County 14th Street. They arrived to find a red Nissan and a white Ford pickup, both of which were badly damaged.

Firefighters used a hydraulic spreader to free a man in the Nissan. He was then taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center with serious injuries and later flown to a hospital in Phoenix for further treatment.

The driver of the Ford was uninjured in the crash. He told police that the collision occurred when the Nissan failed to stop at the intersection and was broadsided by his pickup.

The identities of those involved are being withheld pending further investigation.
