High-Speed Crash Leaves One Passenger Dead, Three Injured

ambulance to high-speed crashPHOENIX, AZ – A teen was killed and three others were rushed to the hospital after a high-speed collision in south Phoenix Tuesday afternoon, CBS 5 reports.

The two-vehicle crash took place at about 12:30 p.m. along Broadway Road near the intersection with 12th Street.

Investigators with the Phoenix Police Department believe the 19-year-old driver of a Nissan Altima was speeding when the vehicle drifted into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a Chevrolet pickup truck.

A passenger in the Nissan was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as 18-year-old Edward Crocker.

The Nissan’s driver and another 18-year-old passenger were taken to nearby hospitals to be treated for serious injuries, as was the 58-year-old driver of the pickup.

No charges had been filed in connection to the fatal crash as of this time. Our team will continue to monitor this developing story and provide any further information as it is released.
