One Dead, Another Badly Hurt in Tucson Single-Car Crash

patrol car lights - daytime TUCSON, AZ – A 21-year-old man was killed and his female passenger seriously injured following a single-vehicle collision in North Tucson on Sunday morning.

According to the Arizona Daily Star, the incident occurred at about 6:30 a.m. as Mario Alberto Quintero, 21, was driving south on Flowing Wells Road, near the Prince Road Intersection.

Investigators say Quintero lost control of his vehicle while traveling at a high rate of speed and slammed into several objects before crashing into a utility pole.

Quintero was ejected in the crash and pronounced dead at the scene. His unidentified female passenger was taken to Banner University Medical Center with serious injuries.
