PHOENIX, AZ – A traffic accident involving several vehicles closed southbound State Route 51 to traffic Monday afternoon, KTAR reports. The incident occurred near the highway’s intersection with Northern Avenue at about 2 p.m.
All lanes except the far right lane were reopened by 3 p.m. The final lane reopened at 4 p.m.
DPS spokesperson Bart Graves told KTAR that the accident involved “basically three separate collisions,” which combined to shut the entire roadway to traffic.
It is unclear at this time whether anyone was injured. We will endeavor to provide that information in a future blog post, should it become available.
