Man Dies in Collision with Go-Cart on Sunday Morning

A man died after a collision involving a BMW and a go-cart early Sunday morning, Aug. 23, in Mesa. The accident occurred around 3:30 a.m. near Gilbert and Broadway roads, according to the Arizona Republic. The 28-year-old man was traveling westbound in the go-cart in the curb lane on Broadway Road when his vehicle was struck from behind by a BMW car driving in the same lane and direction, according to Mesa Police. The go-cart driver, who has yet to be identified, died at the scene.

According to police, the go-cart driver was not wearing a helmet or eye protection. He did not have any lights or visible flags either. Police said there were no signs of intoxication, and the driver of the BMW will not face charges.
