Baby Killed in Crash After Driver Runs Red Light

Red traffic lightPHOENIX, AZ – An infant was killed and several people were seriously injured on Saturday after a driver ran a red light in central Phoenix and caused a major collision, CBS 5 reports.

Police say the driver of a Ford pickup truck ran a red light at the intersection of 7th Street and Buckeye Road at about 9 p.m. and subsequently slammed into a GMC pickup that was heading west on Buckeye.

A 3-year-old child and a 6-month-old child were rushed to a nearby hospital in extremely critical condition. Unfortunately, the infant died there a short time later.

Two women and a man were also hospitalized in critical condition. Their identities have not been released to the public.

The driver of the Ford refused transport to the hospital.

Further investigations are ongoing.
