Two Killed in House Fire in Tempe

Stock image of a fireTEMPE, AZ – Two women were killed in a house fire in Tempe early Monday morning.

According to CBS 5, the fire broke out at a home near Priest Drive and Southern Avenue at about 1:30 a.m.

Firefighters went on the defensive at the scene, battling the blaze from outside the home. Once they were able to safely do so, they entered the structure and found two deceased adults.

The cause of the fire is unclear at this time. However, neighbors reported hearing a loud explosion or boom before seeing the flames.

Tempe Police confirmed one woman in her 70s and another in her 50s were killed in the blaze.
