TUCSON, AZ – A pedestrian was seriously injured and a motorist was arrested following a hit-and-run collision in southwest Tucson on Tuesday.
According to KOLD News 13, 38-year-old Robert Valenzuela was heading west on Los Reales Road when he hit the unidentified pedestrian.
Valenzuela then continued west. Moments later, he lost control of his vehicle and slammed into a utility pole. He was picked up by police after attempting to flee on foot.
The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Investigators suspect impairment played a role in the crash.
