Bicyclist Dies After Being Hit By a Car in West Tucson

TUCSON, AZ – A female bicyclist was killed after being struck by a vehicle west of Tucson Mountain Park early Thursday morning.

According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, the accident was reported at about 6:30 a.m. near the intersection of North Sandario Road and West Tortoise Trail.

Deputies say 60-year-old Lauren Harvey was hit when she attempted to make a left turn onto W. Tortoise Trail from N. Sandario Rd. She was pronounced dead upon officials’ arrival at the scene.

No charges have been filed against the driver involved in the crash at this time. However, the investigation remains underway as of Friday morning.
