Young Girl Hit and Killed in Accident Involving Pickup

TUCSON, AZ – A young girl was fatally struck by a pickup truck as she was attempting to cross a busy street in west Tucson on Saturday.

According to KOLD News 13, a six-year-old child and a family member were crossing West Fort Lowell Road near North Geronimo Avenue when the child ran into the eastbound lanes of the roadway and was hit.

The girl was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

It is unclear whether the family member was injured in the crash.

The driver involved stopped and cooperated with police. No charges have been filed against that individual at this time.
