ADOT Closes I-19 After Deadly Crash Thursday Afternoon

TUCSON, AZ – Officials with the Arizona Department of Transportation were forced to redirect all traffic after a deadly crash on I-19 Thursday afternoon.

According to KGUN, the accident occurred in the northbound lanes of I-19 near Sahuarita Road shortly before 3 p.m.

Police say the crash involved a car and a tractor-trailer. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. Further details have not yet been made public.

Traffic was redirected around this portion of the interstate for nearly an hour, as police investigated and workers cleared the wreck from the scene. It reopened at about 4 p.m.
