Police Officer Hurt After Wrong-Way Crash with Suspect

PHOENIX, AZ – A Phoenix Police officer is recovering from serious injuries following a wrong-way crash with a DUI suspect.

According to CBS 5, the incident happened on 26th Street near Cactus Road. Police say the suspect, 22-year-old Dylan Johnson, was in the eastbound lanes heading west just as the injured officer was heading east. The collision happened shortly after someone reported a wrong-way driver.

Johnson is expected to recover from his own injuries. He is charged with aggravated assault and driving under the influence.

No other injuries were reported.
