PHOENIX, AZ – A major collision on I-17 left a man and a child critically injured on Sunday afternoon.

According to 12 News, the accident took place sometime before 3 p.m., when a full-sized pickup truck collided with a tractor-trailer near Happy Valley Road.

An injured adult was extricated from one of the vehicles. A juvenile victim was also hospitalized in critical condition.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash.
