Blood Drive at Phillips Law Group Benefits Community Hospitals
Phillips Law Group coordinates to have a “Bloodmobile” outside its Phoenix, Arizona office a few times a year.
As a company that believes it is important to make positive change in the community, Phillips Law Group often organizes events that benefit the people of the Phoenix area, including regular blood drives coordinated by Vitalant.
On May 17, Phillips arranged for a blood drive donation van to be stationed outside of the firm’s main Phoenix office for several hours. A number of staff members showed up to donate and be heroes to patients in the Arizona area who need this vital, life-saving resource – in fact, 13 donors were able to make donations on the Bloodmobile that day!
The heroes who showed up to be a part of the event gave generously of both their time and their blood donations, which, according to Vitalant, will benefit 39 local hospital patients. The importance of giving blood cannot be understated and we are proud of the difference those staff members were able to make!
Three donors who were able to give that day were also “Power Red donors,” whose double red cells are expedited to newborns, new moms, and trauma patients, Vitalant noted. According to the American National Red Cross, a Power Red donation means that person was able to safely give two units of red blood cells during one donation and have their plasma and platelets returned to them.
This blood drive was just one of many that Phillips has organized to give back to the community, and we have another one already scheduled for August 2023. If you’re interested in donating, please contact us to find out how you can sign up for the next drive!
Phillips Law Group also regularly puts together other volunteer opportunities like our Feeding Arizona events, during which volunteers with the company and its event partners hand out meals to the homeless and offer other services to unhoused individuals, including haircuts, manicures, facials, and more.
