bicycle wheels in a rowTEMPE, AZ – A bicyclist was seriously injured after being hit by a car in south Tempe on Tuesday morning.

According to a report by ABC 15, the cyclist was heading north on Hardy Drive when he was hit by a vehicle traveling east on Southern Avenue.

The unidentified man on the bicycle was taken to a nearby hospital with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries.

The driver remained at the scene. Police believe impairment may have been a factor in the collision.
