- Woman Killed in Phoenix Bicycle Accident | Legal News | News Ticker
Riding a bicycle at night is always an activity that involves risk, particularly if a person is riding a recumbent bicycle that sits lower to the ground. However, that doesn’t mean that those who choose this form of transportation don’t have legal rights. Tragically, it’s possible that someone’s legal rights were violated when a woman was killed while riding this type of vehicle last night in a Phoenix bicycle accident. Police have not released the name of the victim, and they are continuing to investigate the situation.
According to authorities, the latest fatal Phoenix bicycle accident occurred last night near 25th Avenue and Dunlap Avenue. A woman who was approximately 50 years old was riding her motorized recumbent bicycle on Dunlap Avenue when a motorist came up from behind and attempted to turn right from Dunlap Avenue onto 25th Avenue. The unidentified motorist then collided with the bicycle as the turn was attempted, and the bicyclist was killed. Police have ruled out alcohol as a factor in the crash.
