- Widow of Slain Rancher Injured in Arizona DUI Accident | Legal News | News Ticker
When people walk amongst traffic, most understand that they are taking on at least a slight risk and that they are putting their safety in the trust that motorists will not make terrible mistakes. Unfortunately, some mistakes are made before a person ever gets behind the wheel, such as when a person decides to consume alcohol and then drive. This appears to be what occurred when the widow of a rancher who had been murdered almost six months ago was hit and badly injured while walking out of church in an Arizona DUI accident.
According to police, this Arizona DUI accident occurred at about 6 p.m. on Saturday just outside of St. Luke’s Catholic church in Douglas, which is located at 1211 East 15th Street. The woman who was hit, Sue Krentz, was leaving the church on foot when 74-year-old Ramon Saucedo came by in his vehicle and slammed into her. Mrs. Krentz was flown to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive. The driver was charged with DUI, endangerment and aggravated assault.
Arizona DUI Accident Statistics
First, we’d like to send our hope that the woman who was injured is able to recover quickly. Mrs. Krentz is the widow of rancher Robert Krentz, who was infamously allegedly gunned down by illegal immigrants six months ago. In addition, this incident will now become part of the overall statistics regarding Arizona DUI accidents. Every year, almost 8,000 Arizona car accidents occur where alcohol is listed as a factor, and almost 5,500 people are injured and almost 400 are killed as a result of these collisions.
Arizona DUI Accident Lawyers
Clearly, the driver of the vehicle faces significant criminal charges. However, the presence of these charges will not prevent Mrs. Krentz from looking into the possibility of filing an Arizona personal injury lawsuit. If she does file a lawsuit and it’s successful, she could be awarded damages that compensate her for her medical costs, lost income and pain and suffering.
If you or someone you love has been harmed in this type of collision, seek the help of Arizona DUI accident lawyers who have been holding drunk drivers accountable for the harm they have caused for many years. Contact Phillips Law Group today to schedule a free initial consultation.
