GREENLEE COUNTY, AZ – Three people were sent to the hospital as the result of a head-on collision along U.S. Route 191 last Friday afternoon.
According toThe Copper Era, the accident occurred between the cities of Safford and Clifton at about 2 p.m., when a car driven by a man from New Mexico crossed into the oncoming lanes and collided head-on with a vehicle occupied by a pair of elderly Clifton residents.
All three people were flown to a Tucson hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.
The man responsible for the accident is facing a number of charges, including failure to control his vehicle, driving without a license and having no vehicle registration.
