- Teens Impaled in Arizona Car Accident After Mother Lets Under-aged Boy Drive | Legal News | News Ticker
More than 140,000 Arizona car accidents occur every year, but some of these crashes are so egregious that they lead to criminal charges as well as Arizona personal injury lawsuits. Such could prove to be the case with a terrible Elroy car accident that occurred on Saturday night when a 14-year-old boy was given the keys to his mother’s vehicle and was later involved in a one-vehicle accident that impaled both the driver and a passenger in the back seat. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
According to police, this near-fatal Elroy car accident occurred when Griselda Figueroa of Casa Grande allowed her 14-year-old son to drive her vehicle along with four of his friends to driver her Chrysler sedan. Just before 8 p.m. on Saturday night, the driver was involved in a one-vehicle crash in the 6300 block of South Iron Bar Road in Eloy. The vehicle left the road after the boy lost control of it and crashed into a fence. One of the metal poles attached to the fence went through the wind shield and impaled both the driver and a passenger in the back seat. Both boys suffered life-threatening injuries.
