In the weeks before the true start of the holiday season, many members of Phillips Law Group participated in November community service opportunities with various partners our firm has formed partnerships with throughout the years. It was a busy month for our volunteers and the community outreach team and really got everyone into the Christmas spirit before December rolled around.
Nourish Phoenix – November 6
In early November, Sharon Mews – the Community Outreach Assistant for the firm – sorted clothes for Nourish Phoenix, sometimes referred to as NourishPHX. She learned that Nourish Phoenix really needs donations of men’s clothing, and although Phillips Law Group donated more than eight toes of men’s clothes and shoes a few months ago, the organization can always use more!
Foster Alliance – November 7 and November 21

On November 7, three volunteers from Phillips Law Group went to The Foster Alliance and helped put together birthday bags for kids the organization works with. And just a few weeks later, Sharon visited again and assisted them with making “Thank You” wreaths made from Lindor chocolates, shrink wrap, and a festive Christmas ribbon.
“It was fun to get to help them, and of course I love crafts!” she said of the opportunity.
MANA House – November 19
A group of five volunteers from the firm helped in the donation room at MANA House on November 19. The organization gets a lot of clothing, household items, hygiene products, and other donations every week, and the residents are able to come in and “shop” for items for free thanks to these donations.
“We helped with the coats and blue jeans, organizing and sorting by size,” Sharon explained.
Meanwhile, the stylist that Phillips Law Group volunteers brought along with them, Angela, cut hair for 12 veterans at the facility.
“They were very grateful to have their hair cut,” Sharon said. “Many of them are trying to get a job, and a fresh haircut is out of their price range…the veterans love Angela. She sings to them, talks to them, and interacts with each person. She stays till every last Veteran signed up gets their hair cut.”
The MANA (Marines, Army, Navy, Airforce) House is a peer-support organization of homeless and formerly homeless veterans, and they can always use more volunteers! Please get in touch with our community service team if you’d like to help out there in the future.
Feeding Arizona – November 25

Finally, in late November, Phillips Law Group joined forces with Cloud Covered Streets to run another impactful Feeding Arizona event.
At the event, 15 unhoused individuals received haircuts, and 170 people were provided with food from Cracker Barrel. That involved supplying eight jugs of coffee and eight jugs of lemonade for those in attendance to enjoy, too.
Plus, 35 personal hygiene bags were handed out, alongside five bags of goodies for dogs and one for a cat.
In total, six volunteers from Phillips Law Group took part in the event, with one new volunteer lending a helping hand for the first time!
We would love to welcome new volunteers at Feeding Arizona events and other outreach opportunities long after these November community service events. If you’re interested in helping out over the holidays or in 2025, please contact us to learn more!
