- Man Killed in Tucson Motorcycle Accident | Legal News | News Ticker
There are many traffic laws in Arizona that must be remembered by motorists at any given time when they are behind the wheel. When any of these traffic laws are not obeyed, people can be injured or worse, and even those mistakes that seem slight in nature can be deadly. Tragically, it’s been alleged that one motorist failed to adhere to right-of-way norms recently, and this omission led to a Tucson motorcycle accident that took the life of a man who was hit in an intersection. Police are continuing to investigate the situation.
According to the authorities, this fatal Tucson motorcycle accident occurred at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Houghton Road and Valencia Road. An unidentified motorcyclist was approaching the intersection at that time when an unidentified woman who was driving a sedan was approaching the same location. The traffic light at the intersection turned yellow, and the motorcyclist attempted to proceed. At that point, the driver of the sedan turned in front of the motorcycle, and a collision ensued. The collision caused the sedan to overturn, and even though the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, he did not survive the crash.
Arizona Motorcycle Accident Statistics
First, we’d like to offer our most sincere condolences to the family and friends of the motorcyclist who was killed. Losing a life in such a random fashion is truly tragic, and we hope that those who were close to him are able to come together and work through their grief. In addition, this fatal Tucson motorcycle accident will now become part of the overall statistics regarding Arizona motorcycle accidents. Every year, approximately 3,000 such crashes occur, leading to almost 2,500 injuries and to more than 120 fatalities.
Arizona Wrongful Death Lawyers
If the facts that are available are accurate and the driver of the sedan failed to yield the right-of-way to the motorcyclist, it’s possible that the family of the person who was killed could file an Arizona wrongful death lawsuit. If such a lawsuit is filed and is successful, it could lead to an award of damages that compensates the family for their medical, funeral and burial costs as well as their lost income and their loss of companionship.
If you have lost someone you love in a crash, you need to seek the help of Arizona wrongful death lawyers who have been successfully fighting for the rights of grieving families for many years. Contact the Phillips Law Group today to schedule a free initial consultation.
