PHOENIX, AZ – The driver responsible for crashing his vehicle into a McDowell Heights business last Monday is still on the run.
According to a report by 12 News, an SUV careened into the Boom Boom Room lounge on McDowell Road, near the intersection with 17th Street, last Monday night.
Police say the driver of a red Ford Expedition plowed into the building shortly after the owner had locked up for the night. Fortunately, while both the owner and her sister were in the parking lot at the time, neither was in the path of the Ford.
The driver was able to get out of the vehicle under his own power and walk away from the scene before police arrived. His identity remains unclear at this time.
The Boom Boom Room has been closed for over a week following the crash, it is set to reopen this Friday.
