The\u00a0Phillips Law Foundation<\/a>, with support from\u00a0Phillips Law Group<\/a>, is set to host a period products packing party to put together bags of menstrual supplies for women experiencing homelessness or poverty. The event benefits\u00a0Women4Women Tempe<\/a>, a nonprofit dedicated to \u201csupporting the dignity, health, and security of all women by providing access to feminine hygiene products, free of charge.\u201d<\/p>\n

First Period Products Packing Party of the Year<\/h2>\n

Although Phillips Law Group and the Foundation have hosted these \u201cpacking parties\u201d in the past, this is the first one of 2025, and volunteers are gearing up to prepare as many bags of products as they can to provide to as many women as possible.<\/p>\n

Kay Wright, Women4Women Tempe\u2019s co-founder and president, told\u00a0KJZZ \u2013 a National Public Radio member station<\/a>\u00a0in Phoenix \u2013 that when volunteers come together to pack paper bags with hundreds of pads, tampons and sanitary wipes, \u201cThere’s always a lot of laughter because people start talking about their first periods and how awful it was and just \u2014 you know, it\u2019s just fun.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wright added that events like this upcoming packing party help destigmatize periods.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s good to have everybody,\u201d said Wright. \u201cIt’s like, it’s not a woman thing, it’s a human thing. And it’s so natural and normal.\u201d<\/p>\n

How to Help the Cause<\/h2>\n

This packing party event will take place\u00a0on Friday, April 25th, at 10:00 am,\u00a0onsite at the main Phillips Law Group office complex \u2013\u00a03101 N Central Avenue. Volunteers will work to assemble bags of menstrual supplies for women in poverty and\/or experiencing homelessness, and will need all the help they can get.<\/p>\n

At one\u00a0previous packing party<\/a>\u00a0hosted by Phillips Law Group, volunteers put together 635 bags, each filled with 12 pads or tampons, six individually wrapped pantiliners, five individually wrapped hand wipes, and five individually wrapped feminine wipes.<\/p>\n

Ilce Mondragon, the Community Outreach Coordinator for the firm, said at the time that Women4Women Tempe typically needs to bring all the supplies to these packing parties. However, when Phillips Law Group hosts one, she said, \u201cthey love us because we provide everything. And they don\u2019t need to worry about anything.\u201d<\/p>\n
