- Fatal Arizona Traffic Accident on I-10 Caused by Tire Blowout | Legal News | News Ticker
There are certain Arizona car accidents that can be caused by something going wrong with one of the vehicles involved in a collision. Tragically, that appears to be the case with a fatal Arizona auto accident that occurred on Friday that killed one person and injured 11 others. According to police, the accident was caused by a tire blowout on a vehicle that collided with a van full of passengers. The fallout that led to a chain-reaction accident was as severe as it was gruesome, and police are continuing to investigate the situation.
According to police, this fatal Arizona traffic accident occurred on Friday on Interstate 10 near Arizona Highway 85 in West Valley. Peter Bocskov, 45, of Buckeye, was driving his Ford pickup truck in a westward direction on I-10 when a tire on his vehicle failed. He lost control of his truck and it collided with a van carrying several people that was moving in the same direction. As a result of this initial collision, the van veered into the center median, overturned and ejected several people who were inside. One unidentified woman was killed in the crash, and 11 others were injured to varying degrees.
Arizona Car Accident Statistics
First, we’d like to send our condolences to the family of the woman who was killed and offer our hopes that those who were injured in this Arizona traffic accident are able to recover from the injuries they suffered in this horrific crash. Unfortunately, this situation will only add to the statistics regarding Arizona car accidents overall. Every year, more than 140,000 such accidents occur, leading to more than 1,000 fatalities and more than 65,000 injuries. These numbers have remained nearly constant in recent years.
Arizona Car Accident Lawyers
One of the factors that would need to be determined in this situation is whether the tire that failed should have been replaced and whether the driver of the pickup truck should have known that it needed to be repaired or removed. There are other factors to consider if those who were injured or if the family of the woman who was killed decide to look into the possibility of filing Arizona personal injury lawsuits. The strength of potential legal claims come down to the facts that would be evidence if such a claim was filed.
