In December 2024, volunteers from Phillips Law Group kept busy by lending a hand to help different causes in the Phoenix, Arizona area. Our December community service events assisted foster children, veterans, the homeless community, and other underserved populations.
MANA House Tree Decorating – December 3

In early December, for the second year in a row, Phillips Law Group volunteers helped decorate Christmas trees for the veterans at MANA House. A handful of volunteers from the firm tag-teamed the different rooms with trees to make sure they all got a little bit of holiday magic.
The patriotic-themed tree in the facility chapel “was so pretty with the red, white, and blue décor,” Sharon Mews, the Community Outreach Assistant at Phillips Law Group, said. There were also trees in the game room and cafeteria for MANA House residents to enjoy.
Phillips Law also provided lunch for the veterans during this December community service opportunity. The veterans enjoyed hot dogs as well as sugar cookies and decorations for the cookies, which the firm also provided with the help of the volunteers in attendance.
“Anytime we get to volunteer at MANA House, it’s an enormous chance to spread happiness,” Sharon said. “However, I would say that we are the ones that are the happiest when we volunteer at MANA House.”
Feeding Arizona/Cloud Covered Streets – December 11

The following week, a number of Phillips Law Group volunteers gave three hours of their time to the firm’s Feeding Arizona initiative, in cooperation with Cloud Covered Streets.
In Downtown Phoenix, some of our homeless community members were served 40 sandwiches as well as hot coffee or juice. A few people also got to get their nails done, and several people enjoyed haircuts and showers, too.
We regularly plan Feeding Arizona events to show some love to our homeless neighbors. If you’d like to get involved at a future event, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
The Foster Alliance – December 19

A couple of volunteers helped sort boxes of toys at The Foster Alliance on December 19. The toys were sorted by age, type, and specialty for the children the organization serves.
“If we didn’t know what they were, we would look it up online,” Sharon noted.
“One of the staff remarked that they loved that we took the time to look up what the toys were. One thing I’ve noticed with all our PLG volunteers – they are efficient, detailed, and give all of their heart to whatever we do,” she added.
“It’s noticeable by others, and many times, we have received positive feedback about our efforts.”
The Foster Alliance is another organization we volunteer with regularly. But we also work with several other community partners, and we’d love to have you assist us at a future community service opportunity!
